Starting in 2009-10, hands-on stunt certification is required for dance/drill coaches who intend to have their teams perform stunts.  The certification must be approved by the Washington State Cheer Coaches Association, Washington State Dance/Drill Coaches Association, or the WIAA.  A "stunt" is defined in the NFHS handbook (1-1-1) as "any tumbling skill, toss, partner stunt, or pyramid."  Stunting includes: cartwheels, handstands, forward and backward rolls, partner lifts, etc.

Stunt certification is good for 3 years from date of clinic.

$55 fee payable to WSCCA 

If you don't see the name of the coach you are looking for, she/he may be listed on Washington State Cheer Coaches Association Stunt Clinic list

It is the job of the coach's school district supervisor to monitor both the Stunt Clinic and Spirit Rules Clinic completion.  District personnel, not WSDDCA, WSSJA, or WIAA, to take action if the clinics are not completed.
