As many of you know by now, Judy Bernritter, passed away this year after a courageous battle with cancer. Most of you know her as the former coach of the Liberty High School Military Team. Judy’s passion in life was her family, friends and her team. She was a local gal, growing up in Issaquah and graduating from Issaquah High School. She coached the Liberty Military Team for nearly 20 years. Judy was passionate about coaching and her team members. She not only guided and challenged them in Drill but also in daily life, teaching them life skills in addition to drill technique. Judy was a mentor to many coaches and was always there to help in any way, at any time. She shared many of her philosophies of coaching which led coaches to become successful with their teams. Judy’s passing is a great loss but we can honor her passion for life and coaching by establishing a scholarship in her name to continue her legacy. We would like to be able to award this scholarship at State this year.
